Dressing Scarlett.

Dear Scarlett,
I did this post for my blog but I thought I would share it on here, too.
It will give you an idea of what I dressed you in as a baby/little girl.
I love shopping. Most gals do.
When Scarlett was born, my love for shopping kept on growing. Now I had two to shop for.
Scarlett's style is as eclectic as mine. I tend to wear whatever my mood draws me to.
I don't have a particular style and this happens to be how I dress Scarlett, as well. Usually, Scarlett ends up wearing an outfit that reflects mine well. Or vice-versa.

My favorite stores to splurge:
My favorite stores to save:
Thrift Stores
Vintage Stores
Flea Markets
H&M for Baby

3) Monsoon Poncho, Colored CordsLayer Fringe Boots 4) Fashion Tee, Track Pants, Minnetonkas, Fawn Headband, Flutter Sleeve Dress, Ugg Biker Boots

I generally don't spend a lot of money on Scarlett's clothes. Sometimes I splurge on a few items that she can use often. But the majority of the clothing that I buy for Scarlett, is inexpensive. I try to find pieces that Scarlett can wear over and over again. For example, Scarlett's Minnetonka's were a bit pricey, but she can wear her moccasins through all four seasons. Mixing and matching also helps save money on buying more than necessary. Sometimes, I put leggings under a dress so Scarlett can wear a dress in colder weather, too. Or leggings under shorts. Style for mini gals doesn't have to be expensive, it's all about deciding what pieces you should splurge on and what items you should save on. I can almost always find a great outfit at a second-hand store for both me and my mini babe. I tend to splurge on shoes and layering basics. I tend to save on items that I know she will only wear a few times (summer clothes that won't fit her next summer). Style to me is important because it reflects personality. Once Scarlett is old enough to choose her own clothes, she can make those decisions. Until then, I'm more than happy to coordinate her outfits for her.
 1) Black & White Dress: Old Navy, Minnetonkas 2) Tribal Dress: Thrifted, Sandals: Baby Gap 3) Cupcake Dress: Gifted 4) Lace embroidered Top & Leggings: H&M 5)Striped Tee: Thrifted, Skinny Jeans: Baby Gap Fringe Sandals: TJ Maxx 6) Bon Voyage Tank, Sun hat & Nautical Shorts: Baby Gap

My baby is 16 Months Old.

That's almost 1 1/2 years old!!!
And you're not really a baby anymore.
Dear Scarlett,
You are getting to be such a big girl now.
You are talking more and more everyday.
You love babies, just like Mommy did when I was little.
You now say, Mama, Dada, Block, Pumpin (Pumpkin), fiss (fish), cold, hot, peas (please) thank-you and count "one, two, freeee!"
You are just a sweet little girl.
You love Pear Juice, carrots and peaches. But you will eat pretty much anything that I put in front of you.
Although, you are getting into everything as you explore the world.
We spend a lot of time with your friends at the playgroup.
And Chloe is your BFF.
This month, family came to visit us in New York.
Next week, we are moving back to our off season house, here in New York.
We'll be there through winter.
I can't wait to have a permanent house for us and a permanent room for you. Soon.
I left you for the first time this month, for a whole weekend. I went away with my friends for a girls weekend.
You stayed with Daddy.
I was nervous since I've never left you for more than a few hours, but Daddy did just fine.
When I came back, you learned new words.
Daddy must have been spending a lot of time with you :)
We had Auntie Shauna visit us last week, too.
I can't believe how quickly time is passing.
Mommy & Daddy's wedding is coming up in May. You will be our two year old flower girl.
I love you Scarlett. To the moon and back! Daddy, too.

15 Months!!!

Dear Scarlett,

You are 15 months old today. I want to cry and smile at the same time. I can't believe what a happy little girl you are becoming. You seem to grow bigger every time I turn around. Little miss. This is what we have been doing this month....We went on a mini weekend Getaway to the Ocean to visit Nunna and Grampy Bobby. It was a fun weekend and you loved playing in the sand. We have been going to lots of play dates. You made a new friend, Chloe. Mommy made a new friend, too. (Chloe's mom) So we have been hanging out with them. You are talking more and more. You say "more" now and "all done". You also sign them in baby sign language as you say them. You say "Dadda" mostly. And usually you say it while he is at work. Then when he comes home and tells you to say it, you don't.....You do what you want and you are very independent. I see a bit of me in you. That scares me and makes me smile at the same time. It makes me happy to know that you are independent and strong. It scares me to think that you might be as rebellious and naughty as I was.

Right now, you are into everything. I can't keep track of you long enough to catch you. You pull all of the clothes out of the drawers. You empty the tuppawares all over the kitchen floor. You pick up every tiny piece of anything that you find on the ground. As I clean, my little twister is behind me fixing that. But I love every moment of it. I love the sound of your pitter patter as you run across the floor looking for me. I love that you reach for me every morning. I love the mess that you leave for me to pick up. Everyday after you go to bed, I go around picking up the storm that you leave behind. As I organize books and put babies back in cradles, I think of how lucky I am to have such a beautiful baby girl. Before I know it, you will be all grown up. And I do not take one single day for granted. I cherish your spaghetti sauce face, your curly cues, your wondering fingers, your tiny baby toes, your devilish eyes and that big beautiful smile.

I can't get down the aisle at the grocery store without someone telling me how beautiful you are. I never get sick of hearing it. You smile as soon as the camera turns to you. Those eyes.....so inviting and loving. You are really a joy to have. When we go for walks, you pick a stuffed animal or baby to take with you. It is the cutest thing. Well Scarlett, I can no longer call you "Baby Scarlett". You are becoming my "Little Scarlett". I know soon you will be my Big Scarlett so I'm taking this time to suck up all the little you that I can. We love you sweet girl.....

Love, Mommy & Daddy
