Brushing Your Teeth.

Dear Scarlett,

I have been trying to upload videos of you for awhile now and finally I got this one on. I don't know why it's so temperamental but this is you at months old.

The Last Snow Day.

Dear Scarlett,

I must say, I will not be sad if this was our last snow day. The last couple of days have been sunny and warm, melting the last of the snow in our yard. I have spring fever. Cleaning the house, staying light out later and buying sandals are sure signs of spring. You and Daddy had a fun day out in the snow. You loved being outside and playing with the white fluff. You actually cried when it was time to come in.

You were sick last week. I'm pretty sure that you got sick from babysitting at the YMCA. You love it there but it's a germ playground! You had a nasty cold and you were really feeling crummy. You never sleep when you get sick. You would only sleep on my chest. This means no one got much sleep. I took you to the doctor and we found out that you had an ear infection. Then Mommy and Daddy got sick. Soon after, you went through a growth spurt. During your growth spurts, you never sleep good, you are whiny and cling to me and you don't eat at all. After a few days, you eat like you can't get enough food and you sleep extra! You napped twice in one day and then slept through the night until 9:30!

Sickness has gone through our house and it's been a rough week or so. But we are all on our way to feeling better. Spring is next week and I'm hoping for some nice weather!!

22 months.

Dear Scarlett,

You are singing like crazy. Your favorite songs to sing are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Grey Squirrel, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Your vocabulary has gone through the roof in the last month or so. Sometimes you say something to me that I didn't even know you could say.
We are living in New York still. We are finally settled into our home and making new friends at Rock and Tots Dance Class, as well as play dates. You also love babysitting at the gym. You are sad when we have to leave.
You are so loving. You hug me and say, "I wuv you Mama" many times throughout the day. Melts my heart every time. I hold you close and thank God for a beautiful little girl like you. You are starting to learn about the potty. You still don't use it but you do sit on it.
Your shoe size is 5 or 6.
You love eating Blueberries, Cantaloupe and raw green peppers.
Favorite activity: coloring
You love the snow and never want to come inside.
You are getting too big. Your 2nd birthday is coming up. We plan on having a small party here in NY for you....maybe you will pick the theme.

We love you Scarlett.

Love Mommy & Daddy

Valentine's Day 2013.

Dear Scarlett, this is Valentine's Day in our Home. 2013.

Valentine's Day in our home this year was a simple one. We didn't give anything special.
A few times leading up to Valentines Day, Ty asked me what I wanted.
I told him 'nothing'.
He asked again, hinting that maybe I want the rug I've been eyeing for our dining room.
I told him again, 'I don't need anything.'
I've started to realize that the more I buy, the more I want. The less I get, the more thankful I am for the things I do receive.
I want to buy less, give more. I didn't get roses or candy.

Instead, I gave Scarlett some treats and spent the day blowing bubbles, helping her make Daddy a Valentine's Day card with some brownies, and then we watched a movie together. Ty worked late so when he did get home, there was no time for a romantic dinner or a night out.
We had left overs.

I love that we don't have to be extravagant to know that we love each other.
Little, thoughtful things that don't cost a penny are just as good.
Of course I swoon at the thought of romantic dinners, jewelry and flowers, but I didn't get any of those things this year.
The fact that we didn't do anything special or buy anything for each other and I still felt as loved as the night he proposed, that is important to me.
Ty came home and picked me up with a big hug, as he always does, every day, every time he enters that door.
He kissed me and told me he missed me.
That was enough.
